Bio:

Carl XII was born as prince of Sweden in the Swedish castle "Tre Kronor". In his early life he got the best education that could be presented during it's time. Everything prepeared to make him a great monarch. He studied mostly in the city of Upsala in subjects like latin, french, german, mathematics, history and cultural-history, philosophy and strategy of warfare. He also did physical training to make him fit for coming eventual wars. Besides that, his favourite hobby was to go hunting with his father, king Carl XI of Sweden.

When Carl XII was only 15 years old his father, Carl XI, died in what scientists today belive was stomach-cancer. Only a few days after the death of the king the castle of "Tre Kronor" burned down to the ground. Carl XII took over as ruling divine monarch of Sweden the same winter. He placed the crown on his head by himself, showing that his political power was divine.

The year of 1700 Russia, Denmark-Norway and Saxony-Poland joined forces in an alliance to bring down the Swedish Empire (1611-1721). The spring that year the alliance declared war. The Great Northern War was uppon Sweden. The war began in a good way for Sweden as they gained several victories against Russia between the years of 1700 and 1709. The king himself faught in many battles together with his swedish-carolean army. The turn-point of the war came 1709 as Sweden lost the battle of Poltava and 20.000 carolean soldiers got captured. Only a few would return back.

After the failure at Poltava, Carl XII went in exile in the allied state of The Ottoman Empire. There, together with a few of his men, he spent a time of prepearing as he planned with the turkish sultan, Ahmed III, to attack the russians. The turkish sultan however refused and got more and more impatient for the king to leave. February 1713 the sultan gave orders to his armies to force the swedes out. The year 1714 Carl XII returned home.

Carl XII still hadn't forgotten about the war. The year 1716 he quickly gained a new carolean-army and marched towards Norway as fast as he could. This is recognised as the fastest march in history. Similar to the march towards Russia, the swedish army had many victories in the beginning. But soon problems turned up. The winter was Cold and many lives were lost. And the king, himself wasn't too lucky. When he was inspecting the swedish trench at Fredrickshald the 30th of November 1718 he suddenly was shot in the head. He died unmarried at the age of 36. This was the end of Sweden as a Superpower and 1721 the war was ended with the defeat of Sweden.

Appearance: Carl XII is mostly known for wearing the simple blue-and-yellow-coloured uniform of a normal carolean soldier. His shape is rather fit and it is obvious that he is a warrior king.

Carl XII is known for being strategic and resolute but he is also known for being stubborn. Like any human he can make mistakes, and one of them even costed him his life. Besides that he is known for being proud in victory and juste in defeat. Carl XII is also known for being able to show mercy to enemies that retreat.

Besides being a great warrior, Carl XII has an intrest of different cultures. He was known for admiring the Ottoman empire and was even the first king to accept different languages and religions in Sweden, which gave more freedome to the people. According to the philosophist Francoise de Voltaire he was one of the first enlighted monarchs of Europe.

Faults and Weaknesses: Carl XII is known to have had lacks of social behavious (some theories even tell of asberger's syndrome or autism). He also had it hard to talk with women as he thought it was stressing. He was also known to be stubborn and never listened to objecting officers, which gave him some consequences.
